Description
Pearblossom is a small town located at the foothills of the northern slope San Gabriel Mountains, facing the Antelope Valley and nestled amongst other small communities and nearby Devil's Punchbowl County Park and Littlerock Dam recreational area.
History
The name Pearblossom, pronounced "Pear-a-blossom" by natives and longtime locals, came from the multitude of local pear farms along the southern ridge of the Antelope Valley. A few still exist today, but most of those farms are now abandoned and have returned to the desert landscape and have been replaced by small-scale housing developments.
